Excitement for Supergirl!

Excitement for Supergirl!

As some of you may know, the premiere for Supergirl season two is right around the corner. I've only been a fan of the show for about a month but I'm just as anxious for 8PM Monday as anyone else. I'm a bit bummed that Hulu isn't streaming shows from The CW anymore because when I can't watch right away I'll have to either remember to set the DVR ahead of time or watch it on a friends Plex media server.

As stated, I was a bit late to the Supergirl bandwagon but I'm glad I eventually came around. I was reluctant to watch the show initially because I wasn't hearing too many good things about it from family and friends. I recall seeing part of one episode while visiting my parents and having no interest whatsoever to continue watching. Meanwhile, my hubby had briefly mentioned that he watched the crossover episode with The Flash but none of the others which further made me wonder if it was worth my time. It wasn't until Netflix sent out a notification about season one that I decided to give it a try, and after struggling to get through the first few episodes it eventually grew on me.

Kingdom Hearts Unchained X Impressions.

Kingdom Hearts Unchained X Impressions.

I've always been a fan of the Kingdom Hearts gaming franchise. I remember it being the sole reason that I wanted a PS2 when the first game was released and I played it for hours on end although sadly I was never able to beat it. When Kingdom Hearts Unchained X was released for iOS and Android earlier this year in the U.S. I downloaded it to my tablet the second I saw in mentioned in the Play Store.

After playing for 177 consecutive days this game still manages to hold my attention despite being a VERY repetitive and simple RPG game where you tap and swipe incessantly at your enemies. I'd consider myself a pretty dedicated player at a decent level (223 of the current 300 max) and I've never put a dime into the game. Nope, not even the Google Play credit I earned from those Google Opinion surveys. So for those who have rated the game with one to two stars because its a pay-to-win/play game... try again or better yet try harder. If you don't like they game for other reasons that's understandable but saying that you absolutely have to pay to progress is simply not true in my experience.

Amino, Where Have You Been All My Life?

Amino, Where Have You Been All My Life?

It's been awhile since I've really just fallen in love (or heavy like) with any social apps. I'm a little burnt out on the infamous Facebook and I mainly just use it to lurk on family and friends now. I occasionally post things about food, date nights, and watching movies but its essentially a yawn fest user experience for me. I have also started to use my twitter account a bit more but it isn't something I check everyday or have made a lot of connections with. I presume it could be because of the 140 character limit but I think there's a little more to it than that such as the lack of engagement. I realize that getting people to interact with you should be at least a 50/50 effort but its just so much work. Some people are able to get interaction from their followers without putting in much action themselves but I don't feel like I'm quite at that level. I definitely plan to continuously work on it though.

The only other social platform I've used sporadically in the past years is Google+, I joined while it was still in beta stage and for quite some time it was my absolute favorite site to frequent. I've made a few friends from the site and initially met my hubby through the site as well so it has had its highlights for sure. Unfortunately within the past year or so its struggled to hold my interest. But never fear, Amino is here!

Hey There!

Hey There!

So, I haven't updated this website in over a year and its pretty pathetic. The YouTube channel has been neglected for an even longer amount of time. In truth the past year has been a bit of journey and I haven't had the time or resources to keep up with the blog the way I originally intended... I've had two major surgeries within the past five months so for awhile my sole interest in getting on the internet involved streaming on Netflix, Hulu, Plex, etc and a few social media posts here and there. However, things are about to change a lot.
