    Please, excuse the mess.

I am currently refamiliarizing myself with WordPress after using SquareSpace for several years. As a result, I am trying to edit and clean up the older post that I exported over and finish designing my header image BEFORE making any new post. Thanks for stopping by and I will be sure to make an announcement on Twitter when I have fully relaunched my blog.

Edit: Now that I have finished reformatting some of my older blog entries from the past I just wanted to make one thing clear. They are obviously old posts, so I would say take them with a grain of salt. While some of them are still a good read they do not have much purpose in the year 2022. I am a very different person from when I wrote these entries/articles šŸ˜‰

  • Shazam! Not what I expected.

    Shazam! Not what I expected.

I got to see Shazam! almost three weeks early thanks to one of my favorite local conventions ā€œMomoConā€. They hosted a fan event that was first come first serve and thankfully I was there early enough to get a good seat. Now let me get this out of the wayā€¦. Iā€™ve never been a huge fan of Shazam as I havenā€™t read any of the comics and have only seen him here and there watching the ā€œJustice Leagueā€ cartoon series. That being said, I went into watching this film with low expectations due to unfamiliarity and letā€™s be real the fact that its a DC live-action film (if you werenā€™t aware live-action has never been their strong suit thereā€™s a handful of hits among a seas of misses). However, this turned out to be a good film that I wouldnā€™t have been upset about had I actually purchased a ticket.

I donā€™t want to spoil anything since it doesnā€™t officially release until April 5, 2019 but I loved the lighthearted tone throughout. There was humor, a bit of family drama, and a decent amount of action. The last few minutes of the movie really left me satisfied. The audience was clapping and cheering along together in the theater and I got a new idea for a cosplay character. It also held my attention throughout which was a pleasant surprise. I try to go see movies that I know will truly pull me in because on occasion I have been known to nod off if something is boring. It may not be the best DC film ever, but I have no complaints. It was a delight and Iā€™m considering going to see it again.

  • Microsoft Surface Go, is it worth it?

Note: I started this article exactly one month ago and it is just now getting posted. I made posts on social media about how I was going to upload it over the weekend and I failed in epic fashion ā€¦ I donā€™t even have a valid excuse. Iā€™m sorry to those who were looking forward to it for so long. The good news though is that this review will be much more thorough as Iā€™ve had the device for several weeks.

Iā€™m the type of person that does extensive research on a product before I make a purchase. I have been looking at the Microsoft Surface Go for a few months and weighing my options during that time. I debated on getting an iPad or a Chromebook as well. I made my ultimate decision on Thanksgiving Day while shopping at Best Buy to pick up the Surface Go. You canā€™t beat 18 Months no interest and $50 off the usual price so I went with it and have had no regrets.

Out of the boxā€¦ it wasnā€™t quite the tablet of my dreams but after tweaking a few things here and there it has certainly risen to my expectations. I made sure to get the option with the most RAM and the most storage (8GB/128GB) because anything less would just not be worth it in my opinion.
