    Missing Out on BABBQ16.

    So for anyone who has ever followed me on Google+ or come across this blog within the past couple years… you know that I absolutely LOVE android. Even now after having an iPhone 6s as my daily driver for nearly a year; my favorite and first love (as far as mobile operating systems are concerned) is Android. As a result, one of my favorite annual conventions to attend has been the Big Android BBQ by IDEAA. I’ve been to the BABBQ a few times and it seems to get better every year (weather impending). It’s great for both developers and enthusiasts because they try to make sure that there’s a bit of something for everyone.

     I always enjoy the food, fun, learning and even a bit of the networking/socializing… which says a lot for an introvert like me. There’s just something about being around like minded people that makes me feel a little more at home and comfortable in the environment. I think somewhere between 85-90% of the people I’ve met IRL from Google+ have been from attending these events and I’ve formed some great friendships along the way.

    Unfortunately this year I will not be able to attend and its a major bummer because I feel like I need to go back to make up for last years experience. In 2015 I was under the weather for the majority of the event so I spent a lot of time in my hotel room. I was also dealing with some personal issues due to it being my first year without my mom. Upon realizing little things like not being able to call her when I got into the Dallas area or telling her about the experiences and souvenirs I’d picked up… I slipped into a mini depression. I ended up going from my usual introversion to all but curling up in a corner.

  • Hey There!

    Hey There!

    So, I haven’t updated this website in over a year and its pretty pathetic. The YouTube channel has been neglected for an even longer amount of time. In truth the past year has been a bit of a journey and I haven’t had the time or resources to keep up with the blog the way I originally intended… I’ve had two major surgeries within the past five months so for awhile my sole interest in getting on the internet involved streaming on Netflix, Hulu, Plex, etc and a few social media posts here and there. However, things are about to change a lot.

    I’m re-locating to the Atlanta, Georgia area next week to begin a new life with my hubby and no that’s not a pet name I’m legitimately getting hitched in the very near future and I’m excited about it. He’s my biggest fan and has always been extremely supportive of me starting this website. Even throughout my hiatus he’s told friends and co-workers about this blog because he’s proud of me. So I feel like that in combination with being around him every day is going to be a constant motivator to keep this thing running. I’ll have more time and energy to commit to giving it the attention it seriously deserves, FINALLY. 

    As for other changes in the past year aside from the health issues and getting married. I’ve purchased a PS4 since my last post and an iPhone 6s O_o (I still love android I swear, just wanted to try something new). I’m also going to be getting back into gaming on Xbox One soon too since I’m acquiring one by marriage, lol.

     My hubby is a tech head just like me so I plan to get him to assist me with a few things here and there. I also hope to get him to make an appearance on a few of my vlogs but that may take some begging. I definitely plan on uploading a new video sometime in September and posting more on here after I get settled in from my big move ツ

  • Unplugged.

    Unplugged.

    It’s been a rough year… and if I’m being honest nothing has gone as planned so far. I lost my mom about 3 and a half weeks ago which was completely unexpected… She was only 58 years old and still seemed to have plenty of days ahead of her but life is strange like that and tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone. I don’t plan to go any further into detail because although this is my personal tech blog I have a separate site for getting all emotional and whatnot. I did however want my readers here to have a clue as to why the updates I promised for January have not begun yet… I’m trying to get my life back to normal or as close to it as I can after adjusting to the loss of someone I loved dearly and spent a lot of time with. 

    In addition, my job has been more demanding than ever… even with being off the week that my mom passed away and taking the following week for vacation, this month was absolutely brutal and had me extremely stressed out.  I’ve been off the radar for a good bit of this month using social media a little less and unable to focus on posting anything here. 

    I almost got through the entire month without posting and I’m just barely making it but I figured it was overdue, its past 11PM in my time zone but I’m sure its already February 1st for a lot of my readers. I felt like at minimum I need to hold this site to the standard of my personal blog and do at least one post a month. I really want to stick to that because it didn’t quite happen last year.

    As for the future, I can say that I’m planning to do a vlog for next weekend just to cover all the things that I’ve been wanting to since December. My health seems to be improving so a lack of time is the only issue I think I may encounter as far as keeping this site up… I sincerely want it to grow and I know it can if I put in the necessary work. In the meantime, I appreciate the loyal followers and I hope you continue to watch and read my work! ☺
