iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus, I Can Dig It!

There are many people in my social circles online that loathe anything made by Apple regardless of whether it is an iPhone, iPad or even a MacBook, however I do not fit into that category… its doubtful that I ever will. I’m all about technology as a whole so while I’m a huge fan of Google and Android development I have no allegiance to any particular brand or manufacturer.

I love living in a world where I have the freedom to chose what I want, having options is great for all of us as consumers. Not to mention… a little healthy competition isn’t hurting anyone!

One of the main reasons I’ve always overlooked the iPhone as a device worth having is because of the size. I LOVE big phones and ever since early last year when I got my hands on a Note 2 everything in comparison seems so itty bitty. I know that everyone has their own personal preferences so there may be some people who wanted iPhones to remain their previous size but I couldn’t be more excited about it. I’ve been a fan of iOS since last year with the release of iOS7 (which is what prompted me to finally get an iPad).

  • Galaxy Tab & Nook Combined?

    Galaxy Tab & Nook Combined?

As I was heading to bed last night I came across a post in one of my social networking feeds about the all new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook… at once all I could think of was “could that name be any longer?”

Shortly after a few other questions ran across my mind such as: what? why? and seriously?

I couldn’t quite wrap my head around why someone would want to buy such a thing when you could get an iPad or Android Tablet with better specs and simply download the Nook app or better yet have the choice of using the Kindle and Google Play Books applications as well. I have always been a fan of options.

However, when I came home from work I decided to do a little more research and realized that perhaps it wasn’t as bad of an idea as I initially thought. For starters its got a pretty nice decent price point of $179.00 after a $20.00 rebate, which makes it a great Christmas gift idea. Its also already rocking Android 4.4 (KitKat) and 8GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot to gain up to 32GB of additional storage.

  • Me & Windows Phone?!

    Me & Windows Phone?!

“Note: this entry was previously written on my personal blog back in January but seemed relevant to my new site so I decided to re-share here.”

Yes, you read correctly! As many of my friends on social networking and in real life know… I am a HUGE and very loyal “Android Geek”, so when I started telling people that I was using a Windows Phone I got some strange looks and some funny comments. All I can say is… desperate times call for desperate measures. When you have to make a carrier switch a little sooner than you’ve expected and you’re on a budget things happen!

There was a part of me that considered getting a cheap Android phone instead, but with a budget of $100 the lower spec’d Android offerings left me unimpressed so I decided to give the Nokia Lumia 521 a chance. I’d heard mixed reviews and opinions about the devices and wanted to test one for myself.

It’s been interesting to say the least, some days I feel like “OMG, come on first pay day so I can get back to my beloved Android” and others I’m like “eh, it’s not so bad”.

I’ll be honest, the Windows Phone OS is not as bad as many people assume. It is fast, responsive… everything you expect a smart phone to be if you don’t rely on Google for most of your communication needs. Their “app store” leaves a lot to be desired but it does have some fairly popular cross-platform apps such as Pandora, Whatsapp, Angry Birds (because everyone loves that right?!) and even Instagram (Beta). I guess what I’m trying to get at is that its “sufficient”.
