• The Resurrection of My Gaming Life.

The Resurrection of My Gaming Life.

I picked that title with a topic in mind, but let it be noted that I’m also hoping for a resurrection of this blog. I just got charged for another year of owning this domain name so I guess I need to do better… I took a hiatus for a few months not just from blogging but from social media in general.

I’ve never been big on using Facebook but my Google+ account took a backseat in my life as well. Its a great platform for getting to know people with similar interests and I have met quite a few thanks to the Android BBQ and a few other random encounters. However, I felt like I was a bit too addicted to it and needed a break. But enough about that… lets get onto what I filled my time with as a result.

I’ve always professed myself to be a gamer but to be honest, I haven’t been much of one since I was in high school and my earlier 20s. The only PC game I’ve played within recent years has been The Sims and my PS3 had been collecting dust for a while. The poor thing had been reduced to nothing more than a Blu-Ray and Netflix player. The only games I played consistently were Bejeweled and other miscellaneous crap on Facebook. I also had an Xbox 360 for awhile but the most I did on that was barely make it through the intro credits on Tomb Raider and lose my breath trying to play “Just Dance” with the Kinect. Oh and I can’t forget the attempt to play Borderlands 2 online with my ex… I kept dying and gave up, lol.

  • Too Many Options.

    Too Many Options.

I haven’t posted on here in awhile because life gets… well busy to be completely honest and you don’t always have time for the things you wish you did. I still want to accomplish that one post per month minimum goal though.

One of the many reasons I decided to start my own site instead of applying to work for someone else’s tech blog was because I knew there would be personal time restraints. I didn’t want to disappoint anyone by not being able to write all the time, and while I am still not writing as much as I’d like I am slowly making it more of a priority.

As of right now I’m very much on the fence about what I want my next tech purchases to be, it’s only the beginning of spring and I keep seeing new things I want. I’ve also been looking at a few things that came out last year that I couldn’t budget for and now I can.  In terms of Wearables and Android Wear I am very interested in upgrading my old reliable LG G Watch. It was nice to be an early adopter for the Android Wear movement but mama wants something new and shiny. The hyped up Huawei watch and the newer offerings from LG have certainly piqued my interest and I’m still holding my breath for the new Moto 360 in hopes it won’t have that dreaded “flat tire” thing going on.

As for phones, I’m still loving my Nexus 6 as I mentioned in my latest Vlog. Its an amazing device but I’m a little curious about other options as well. I’m an Android lover but at the end of the day I’m fascinated by all technology not just products from Google. I’ve being eyeing Windows Phone a bit, the higher end ones are superb but unfortunately lack official Google applications which is a deal breaker for me… and that leaves me with the iPhone (yeah yeah I know). I posted about the thought of getting one earlier today on my Google+ profile and someone said that my page must have been hacked, lol. I’m serious though, I’ve dabbled with iOS previously courtesy of an iPod Touch and an iPad and I don’t find it to be all that bad. It’s very simple which can be a pro or con depending on the user but I’m willing to take the risk and give it a try and I just might in the coming weeks.

  • Unplugged.

    Unplugged.

It’s been a rough year… and if I’m being honest nothing has gone as planned so far. I lost my mom about 3 and a half weeks ago which was completely unexpected… She was only 58 years old and still seemed to have plenty of days ahead of her but life is strange like that and tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone. I don’t plan to go any further into detail because although this is my personal tech blog I have a separate site for getting all emotional and whatnot. I did however want my readers here to have a clue as to why the updates I promised for January have not begun yet… I’m trying to get my life back to normal or as close to it as I can after adjusting to the loss of someone I loved dearly and spent a lot of time with.

In addition, my job has been more demanding than ever… even with being off the week that my mom passed away and taking the following week for vacation, this month was absolutely brutal and had me extremely stressed out.  I’ve been off the radar for a good bit of this month using social media a little less and unable to focus on posting anything here.

I almost got through the entire month without posting and I’m just barely making it but I figured it was overdue, its past 11PM in my time zone but I’m sure its already February 1st for a lot of my readers. I felt like at minimum I need to hold this site to the standard of my personal blog and do at least one post a month. I really want to stick to that because it didn’t quite happen last year.

As for the future, I can say that I’m planning to do a vlog for next weekend just to cover all the things that I’ve been wanting to since December. My health seems to be improving so a lack of time is the only issue I think I may encounter as far as keeping this site up… I sincerely want it to grow and I know it can if I put in the necessary work. In the meantime, I appreciate the loyal followers and I hope you continue to watch and read my work! ☺
